Key findings
  • Q3 2026 net revenues $17.40bn, +10.3%; GAAP operating margin 36.0% against 12.1%. Q3 2025 costs carried two one off charges (Q3 2025 10-Q): acquired IPR&D and milestones of $2.68bn, incl. upfront charges of $1.9bn for the Capstan Therapeutics acquisition and $700m for the Ichnos Glenmark licence, and an $847m impairment of the Resonic and Durysta intangible assets in cost of products sold. Together $3.53bn, 22.4% of Q3 2025 net revenues; before them the Q3 2025 operating margin was 34.4% (computed). Q3 2026 acquired IPR&D and milestones were $216m. Costs and expenses $11.14bn, (19.7%). GAAP diluted EPS $2.37 against $0.10; adjusted EPS $3.82 against $1.86.
  • Skyrizi and Rinvoq replace Humira. Together $8.48bn in Q3 2026, +23.1%, 48.7% of net revenues against 42.3% in FY2025; Humira $683m, (31.2%), after $20.69bn in FY2021.
  • Neuroscience is the second growth line: $3.39bn, +19.4%, led by migraine drugs and Vyalev. Oncology +0.8% as Imbruvica fell 26.1% under a Medicare set price; aesthetics (1.4%).
  • GAAP and adjusted earnings diverge. 9M 2026 GAAP EPS $4.79 against adjusted $10.12: adjusted EPS excludes $5.11bn of intangible amortization and a $4.73bn contingent consideration charge tied mainly to higher estimated Skyrizi sales, but keeps acquired IPR&D ($0.69 per share).
  • Debt funds the Apogee deal. About $10.9bn paid on 3 Sep 2026, funded by $10.0bn of notes issued in Aug 2026; debt $70.8bn at 30 Jun 2026 excludes those notes; equity ($5.9bn). Free cash flow TTM Q2 2026 $18.21bn against dividends of $11.98bn; quarterly dividend +5.2% to $1.82 from Feb 2027.
  • FY2026 adjusted EPS guidance changed seven times, from $14.37 to $14.57 (4 Feb, before acquired IPR&D) to $13.95 to $13.99 (30 Oct). Shares at $295.30 trade at 21.1x the guidance midpoint and 50.8x TTM GAAP EPS; base case $270 in FY2029, range $137 to $426.

1 Revenue & Business Model

  • Storyline: AbbVie replaces Humira with Skyrizi and Rinvoq, adds neuroscience and funds acquisitions with debt. Humira earned 36.8% of FY2021 revenue; Skyrizi and Rinvoq earned 48.7% of Q3 2026 revenue. Chapters 2 to 4 cover the three revenue drivers: immunology, neuroscience and oncology.
  • One reporting segment, reported by therapeutic area. FY2025: immunology $30.41bn (49.7%), neuroscience $10.77bn (17.6%), oncology $6.66bn (10.9%), aesthetics $4.86bn (7.9%), eye care $2.11bn, other key products (Mavyret, Creon, Linzess) $3.74bn.
  • Net revenues FY2021 $56.20bn to FY2025 $61.16bn, a 2.1% CAGR, with a dip to $54.32bn in FY2023 after US Humira biosimilars launched; TTM Q3 2026 $66.01bn; 9M 2026 $49.40bn, +10.9%.
  • Regions: United States 76.2% of FY2025 revenue and 76.6% of Q3 2026 revenue.
  • Aesthetics: $1.18bn in Q3 2026, (1.4%); Botox Cosmetic $669m, +4.9%; Juvederm $222m, (11.9%); FY2023 $5.29bn to FY2025 $4.86bn. It has no chapter of its own because its main competitors, Galderma and Merz, do not file with the SEC.
  • US pricing terms: in Jan 2026 AbbVie signed a three year voluntary agreement with the US government covering low Medicaid prices and direct to patient offerings, with a $100bn US R&D and capital pledge over a decade, in exchange for exemptions from tariffs and future price mandates.

RiskDisclosure and change
Immunology concentrationSkyrizi and Rinvoq 48.7% of Q3 2026 net revenues and about 42% of FY2025 revenue, as stated in Item 1A; Skyrizi drives the contingent consideration charges.

How risk factors changed

  • Comparison: 10-K FY2025 filed 20 Feb 2026 acc 0001551152-26-000008 against 10-K FY2024 filed 14 Feb 2025 acc 0001551152-25-000020.
  • Factor count rises from 29 to 31 and words from 8,138 to 8,826 (plus 8%), with both additions on US pricing and trade policy.
  • Government set Medicare prices now cover Imbruvica from 2026, Vraylar from 2027 and Botox from 2028, with Botox named for the first time in the pricing factor.
  • Tariff is named 3 times across 2 factors against none a year earlier, and MFN pricing appears for the first time.
  • Humira is named once against 4 times; the patent factor drops the paragraph on Humira biosimilar erosion and states Skyrizi and Rinvoq were about 42% of 2025 net revenues.
